Kelly is in charge of HKMB HUB ’s Executive Protection Practice. His professional specialties include General Partnership/Limited Partnership Liability, Representations and Warranties, Private Equity Liability, Income Trusts and Director’s Insurance for U.S. Listed Public Companies.
Kelly has been quoted in the national business press on matters related to Directors and Officers Liability. He also authored an article entitled Who Really Controls Your Directors & Officers Insurance? for the Institute of Corporate Directors newsletter.
His many speaking engagements include presentations at the Canadian Venture Capital Association annual general meeting, the Canadian Bar Association AGM, the Canadian Federation of Leasing AGM, and presentations to students of the DeGroote School of Business’ The Directors College at McMaster University.
Kelly obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from York University in 1990. He has his A.I.I.C. designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada, his Certified Risk Management designation from the University of Toronto. He completed the executive development program at York University's Schulich School of Business in 1999. Kelly is a member of the faculty of the DeGroote Director’s College.
Kelly joined the firm in 1994. His prior experience included Commercial Account Representative at Continental Insurance in Toronto, Vancouver and Ottawa.
Kelly was born in Sault Ste. Marie and now lives in Etobicoke with his wife and three sons. His interests include travel, golf, and running.
