Mark heads up HKMB Capital Solutions Corp. which specializes in non-traditional risk applications and capital market exposures including alternative risk transfer and captive insurance companies; and Second Security which is a structured investment fund designed to provide liquidity and credit enhancement to the Canadian ABS market.
Mark has worked in international capital markets since 1982. Prior to joining HKMB HUB International, he worked for a number of leading international investment banks in London, Paris and New York including Hambros and Paribas. Mark has traded interest rate and currency derivatives and managed related portfolios of fixed income securities. As a senior structured finance professional his responsibilities have included creating, marketing and executing new capital market products for large institutions in the corporate, financial and government sectors. Most of these products have involved complex financial engineering including extensive use of derivative products. Mark has in-depth experience in structuring credit enhanced, securitized debt transactions, and helped to pioneer a number of financing techniques in this market.
Mark was born in Toronto and educated at Trinity College School and Queens University. He has a wide variety of interests and competes in Ironman triathlons. He was a member of the Canadian National Team at the Long Distance Triathlon World Championships in 1999.
