Michael, who joined HKMB HUB International in 2001, is a key member of the firm’s specialized High-Tech Practice. In addition to technology risks, his business portfolio encompasses a variety of other industries such as property managers, entertainment and recreation facilities, and manufacturers. Many of his clients have international exposures.
Michael started his insurance career at a mid-size Toronto brokerage. During his 5 year tenure there, he used his networking skills to develop the firm’s commercial client base and contributed to their consistent growth.
Over the last 8 years at HKMB HUB, Michael has developed an expertise in Directors’ & Officers’ and Cyber liability coverage. This, combined with his ability to cultivate and sustain client and market relationships, has been the cornerstones of his success in building an important book of business for HKMB HUB.
Michael is the Vice President of the Toronto Insurance Conference which is an association that promotes and educates its broker members internally and externally. He most recently met with MPs in Ottawa to discuss the role of the independent insurance broker. He is also often called upon to speak publicly at various symposiums about HKMB HUB’s international expertise. He did so most recently in Washington DC, Cologne, Amsterdam, Brussels and London.
Michael graduated from McGill University with a B.A. in Political Science and Economics. He also has his Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation.
Originally from Montreal, Quebec, Michael has a strong working knowledge of French. He currently lives in Mississauga, Ontario with his wife and three young children. He is the 7 time Canadian Platform Tennis Doubles Champion and his other interests include golf, tennis and spending time with his kids.
