What's covered? Who's eligible?
- This insurance covers injury or sickness requiring emergency hospital confinement or emergency medical treatment while traveling outside your province or territory of ordinary residence in Canada.
- The applicant must be a resident of Canada, and insured and/or eligible for benefits under the Government Health Care Plan of the province or territory in which the applicant resides.
Elegible Medical Expenses
- Emergency hospital confinement and/ or emergency medical treatment whether in-patient or out-patient as a result of a sickness or injury
- Services of a physician/ surgeon/ anesthetist/ registered graduate nurse/ rental of crutches or hospital-type bed, splints, trusses and appliances
- One follow-up visit after initial emergency treatment
- Ambulance: local/ mountain/ sea rescue
- Medicines and/ or drugs: prescribed drugs to a limit of 30 day supply (No limit of days when insured is hospitalized)
- Emergency air transportation
- Family transportation: one economy return airfare and up to $100 per day for meals and accommodation.
- Escort of insured children
- Return of insured to Canada: one-way economy airfare.
