About our Speakers:

SEAN DUGGAN, Partner & Vice President, HKMB HUB International Clean-Tech, Technology & Life Sciences/Healthcare Practices

Sean is Practice Leader of HKMB HUB International's Clean-Tech, Technology and Life Sciences/Healthcare Practices.

Sean joined HKMB HUB in 1998 and has been involved with knowledge based businesses throughout his tenure there. Prior to joining HKMB HUB, Sean was an underwriter in the commercial practice at Guardian Insurance.
 
Sean obtained his B.A. from York University in 1992, his Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation in 1994, and his Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation in 1997 from the University of Toronto. He completed York University's Schulich Executive Management Program in 2002.

JULIE MATTHEWS, Vice President Carbon Solutions, e3 Solutions Inc.

Julie and her team at e3 provides advisory services to support the demanding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs of Fortune 1000 companies.

Julie has 20 years experience delivering programs and projects in both the carbon, energy and facility management sectors. Over the last five years her focus has been to develop and provide end to end carbon solutions to the ever shifting carbon market.
 
As environmental and climate change legislation is implemented Julie works with clients so that they can take a leadership role in quantifying and managing environmental, carbon and GHG-related risk and opportunities. Her team provides industry-specific solutions to help top organizations across North America measure, monitor and verify their environmental and carbon footprints.  

KATIE ALTOFT, Director of Advisory Services, Carbonzero

Katie Altoft is the Director of Advisory Services for Carbonzero, and a Professor of Environmental Management at the Centre for Environmental & Geomatics at Niagara College, where she teaches carbon management and organizational sustainability.  She sits on several boards and advisory committees related to carbon management.

Katie has been involved with the environmental industry for over 18 years, working in a variety of
roles in government, consulting and not-for profit leadership.  Working with the Canadian Standards Association, she led the Canadian Advisory Committee for the ISO Climate Change Standards, as well as working on the public consultation process for several of Natural Resources Canada’s first greenhouse gas quantification protocols.

Katie has an MBA in Business and Sustainability from the Schulich School of Business, and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo.
